Nutrition. Why is eating well so hard?!
Sounds simple right? It’s like telling someone “don’t look now but…”; you know they will absolutely look, even though you’ve just told them not to. It’s no different when it’s just you against you.
Focusing solely on what not to do, and what not to eat, immediately sets you up for failure.
Stop obsessing! Easier said than done. Staying on track with anything in your life is a state of mind. Choose to focus on what you get to eat, not what you can’t eat.
“Whether you think you can, or whether you think you can’t, you’re right.” We tend to think that the biggest struggle is lack of time, children, or job stressors. The biggest struggle is between our ears. Make yourself a priority and shift your thoughts to match your goals. This applies to every avenue in life, including nutrition!
Wake up each day with a positive thought. You haven’t come this far to continue self sabotaging with “I can’t”s and “I don’t have”s. Are you trying to stop eating sugar and refined carbohydrates? Focus on the fruits and vegetables that you DO get to eat. Here are a few tips to help keep you on track:
- FILL you plate with veggies!
- Drink adequate amounts of water throughout the day.
- Focus on quality foods; whole, nutritious, non-processed foods.
- Skip the “fat-free” versions. These have most likely been highly processed and therefore lack vital nutrients and healthy fats that keep you full.
- Turn “I can’t eat that” into “I get to have this”.
Just like everything else in life, success starts with a positive mindset. Wake up each day determined to be the best you. Carry that mindset throughout the remainder of each day and use it help someone else smile! The more positivity you give out, the more you’ll get in return, making success easier than we believe possible.
