Snack Sunday!

One of my favorite snacks of all time is jerky. It’s an easy source of protein, lasts a while, and is easily portable. However, not all jerky is created equal.


If you’re not into making your own, purchasing good quality jerky can get kind of pricey. This is definitely an item worth paying a little extra for. Choose a jerky with no added sugars or dyes and choose the lowest sodium content available. As with any other packaged item, check the nutrition labels. If you can’t pronounce it, don’t eat it!


A brand that I am diggin’ right now is EPIC. The consistency of the products aren’t that of your typical jerky, stringy and tough. They offer a number of different products, some with bold flavors, that follow a minimalist philosophy. The meats are environmentally sourced, and the ingredients are whole and nutritious. In other words, their jerky isn’t full of a bunch of crap chemicals.
